Two's the Number

Last Friday (October 14), Brayden met the two month mark! Incredible! At his check up, he weight 10 lbs, 14.5 oz and was 22 inches long. Wow! He has doubled his age but has not yet doubled his weight. His check up was a little rough for him. He got two shots and an oral vaccine, which resulted in extreme, extreme fussiness (he is already a pretty fussy baby, so . . . ) and a fever. Poor little guy! But his is happily napping now! Here are some pictures from his two month "photo shoot."

Water Baby

Dan and I have gotten pretty good a giving Brayden his bath, and Brayden seems to enjoy luxuriating in the warm water each night. I think it helps relax him and feel ready for bed. Here are some of our favorite pictures.

Apple Delight

The weather in New England has been unseasonably warm over the past few days. It has been so, so beautiful--sunny and in the 80's! Dan and I decided that it was time for Brayden to go apple picking! So, the three of us piled in the car and headed to Tougas' Farm in Northborough. Dan and I have been there before, and in addition to the orchard, there is a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and playground for kids. Brayden is still too young to appreciate the petting zoo and the playground, we we had a good time in the orchard. We opted out of the hayride and walked around the orchard ourselves. I think Brayden enjoyed some fresher air (I mean, not that the air in Milford is bad, but . . . ).

Dan and I stopped for cider donuts and kettle corn. By the time we got back to the car, my belly was full of good food, and our car was full of apples and cider.  All in all, we had a really, really great day!

A Visit from the Godfather

Because the majority of my family lives in Pennsylvania, many of them have not yet had the chance to meet Brayden. Last weekend, (well, to weekends ago now), my brother Brendan (aka "The Godfather" or "Uncle Brendan") and my sister-in-law Patrice (aka "Aunt Patrice") came for a visit (and they actually live in New Jersey).

It was pretty special for them to meet Brayden for the first time.

The Phillies were still in the race for the Pennant, and Brayden was ready for a win!

That's right, New Englanders, Brayden's first baseball outfit is a Phillies outfit! We'll get him a Red Sox one . . .  eventually!

Brendan and Patrice could only visit for a short time, but it was so great that they came. Can't wait to see them again soon!

Double Digits

Brayden has had an eventful week. And he's been awake for most of it. Yes, we're having some sleep problems that are a result of fussiness. I finally decided to crack open some of those books that have been collecting dust and figure out what might be going on. It seems, at least according to the "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" book, that the six week age is when fussiness peaks. Ah. Well, Brayden is a little over six weeks, so that explains it. Apparently it gets better from here. I certainly hope so!

One thing that really helps Brayden to sleep is his swing. He almost always falls asleep once I put him in the swing. He usually also loves warm baths.

Fast asleep in his swing! Too bad it doesn't last long!

Toweling off after a bath.

Still, he remains, asleep or awake, as cute as can be! We went to the doctor's office on Thursday, and Brayden weighed in at 10 lbs, 1 oz. He is officially in the double digits!! Wow! He is just growing and growing!
